Manufacturing process design

Manufacturing process design is best achieved as an integral part of the product design. Protronica can devise the processes your product needs to make assembly simple, repeatable and mistake-proof. Ultimately, you'll get faster, more efficient and higher-yield assembly, which minimizes your costs and improves the quality and reliability of your product.

Some examples:

For a wound component integrated with a complex mechanical assembly, Protronica employs a multi-stage robotic soldering system to remove insulation, pre-tin and solder the coil wires to their terminals, a process that would be difficult and costly to do by hand.

For a product with large components, we use a handling cage to hold these components in place on the boards during wave-soldering. If components are misplaced or missing, the cage won't close and lock. Thus, one simple device ensures components do not move during the soldering process, solder joints are reliable, and assembly mistakes do not go forward to latter production stages where they would be much more difficult to correct.

We leverage our expertise in mechanical engineering to come up with innovative uses for production equipment, sometimes combining commercially available production tools with automation design in-house. In this way, we can make manufacturing and assembly of your product simple, repeatable and error-free.
